Information used by Turn

Turn stores account information such as your name, verified phone number, and optional account email. We also store restaurant registration details, bids, reservation outcomes, support messages, and dispute records.

Why we use it

We use this information to verify sign-in, operate bidding, process winning payments, manage restaurants, handle support requests, and protect the service from abuse.

Payments and verification

Stripe processes payment card information. Turn uses payment references and verification status to manage payments. Phone verification messages are sent through SMSGate and our SMS device.

Information shared with restaurants and administrators

Reservation handoffs include guest contact information and potential backup bidders so the restaurant can manage the reservation. Turn administrators can review account, restaurant, support, and dispute records. Contact submissions are saved and an alert containing contact details and a message preview is sent to administrators by SMS.

Bidding alerts and location

We send in-app and SMS alerts when you are outbid and shortly before bidding closes. We use the restaurant location from your latest bid to show nearby restaurant bidding activity. If you have not bid, we use an approximate city and region inferred from your internet connection. The activity feed does not identify bidders.

Location data credits

Restaurant neighborhood information uses © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. City and timezone data is provided by GeoNames under the Creative Commons Attribution license. Approximate visitor location is supplied by Cloudflare.

Browser storage

Turn uses a session cookie to keep you signed in and browser storage for interface preferences and feature experiments. We record interactions with party-size controls to compare their usability.

You can update your profile in your account. For questions about your information or requests to access, correct, or delete it, use the Contact link below. Payment, reservation, security, or dispute records may need to be retained to resolve outstanding issues.
